Host Your Event at Shulgin Farm
For decades, the Shulgin Farm has served as a gathering place for researchers, practitioners, and visionaries exploring consciousness, science, and community. This historic six-acre property in Lafayette, California, where Sasha and Ann Shulgin conducted their groundbreaking work, continues as a special venue for a variety of events, and we are excited to invite you to bring yours to the Farm.
Shulgin Farm: Where History Meets Possibility
The Farm offers a unique setting steeped in psychedelic history. From the legendary laboratory where hundreds of compounds were synthesized to the gardens and gathering spaces where countless conversations shape the psychedelic field, every corner of this property carries significance.

- Introduction to Psilocybin-Containing Mushrooms and Beyond (workshop)
These examples represent just a fraction of what the Farm can accommodate. The space has hosted everything from intimate workshops to larger celebrations, and we are open to a wide range of gatherings:
- Milestone Celebrations - Birthday parties, weddings, and anniversary gatherings

Shulgin Farm Event FAQs
We’re delighted you’re considering hosting your event here. Below are some frequently asked questions to help you plan. If you haven’t already filled out our Event Form, we encourage you to do so.
We have a few beautiful spaces to choose from:
● The Barn (with small stage) – fits ~45–50 people seated, or ~30 for movement-based gatherings (yoga, dance, breathwork, etc.)
● Outdoor Patio – fits ~20–30 people seated, perfect for meals or small group sessions (partly shaded)
● Kitchen – available for catering or food prep during your event
We have folding chairs, pillows and tables available.
We always have one porta potty on-site, and can arrange for an additional bathroom depending on the size of your group.
We typically ask for 1–2 months of advance notice, though we can sometimes be flexible depending on the event and timing.
Unfortunately, we don’t offer on-site accommodations. We recommend nearby Airbnbs or hotels if you or your guests are traveling from out of town. We also don’t offer on-site camping.
We can accommodate up to 30 cars on the property. For larger events, we typically hire a parking attendant to help manage arrivals and departures smoothly.
The Farm will be reserved during Easter weekend (April 4-5, 2026) and Fourth of July weekend (July 4-5, 2026). Other dates will be based on additional events that get booked.
You can host an event anywhere between 90 minutes to several days. Please note: we do not have overnight accommodations on-site.
We have both WiFi and power outlets available and encourage you to bring an extension cord for outdoor events. We also have a speaker available with two wireless microphones.
Our historic hillside property is not fully ADA accessible and some of the paths may be challenging for those with mobility impairments. Please contact us at programs@shulginfoundation.org for more details or to discuss specific accessibility needs.
We like to take a collaborative approach with our event partners and set up an initial meeting to hear what type of event and content our partners have in mind. From there, we decide if both parties feel like it’s a good fit. If so, we generally have a few planning calls to make sure both sides have all details needed.
We do offer nonprofit rates and pricing is discussed on our initial call to see what needs you might have for your event (ex: duration, spaces, etc).
We generally get back to event submissions within 2-3 business days.
It will depend on the event details, however most times we have someone from our team on-site for event support and/or parking purposes.
We’re happy to help! Email us at programs@shulginfoundation.org for inquiries, availability, or site visits.
