Megan Bowers 
Executive Director
Megan Bowers, ACC, is a thoughtful, heart-centered leader passionate about personal development, community impact, and the transformative potential of psychedelic medicine. Her journey with the Shulgins began over twenty-five years ago, when TiHKAL and PiHKAL sparked her curiosity as a young inner-space explorer. The Shulgin legacy of courageous inquiry, experimentation, and compassionate community inspired Megan’s love of experience design and her career in creating transformative programs supported by strong strategic systems.
With a rich background in executive leadership, business and program development, and psychedelically informed coaching, Megan brings mission-forward thinking and a human-centered approach to every initiative. She studied at San Francisco State University and holds multiple certifications from the International Coaching Federation and the International Enneagram Association, with continued education in leadership, DEI, and organizational development.
Doug Reil 
Finance and Operations Director
Doug Reil is an organizational development and nonprofit consultant specializing in emerging healthcare, regenerative culture, and social justice. With 35 years’ experience in management roles at for-profit, non-profit, and start-up companies, he brings a whole-systems approach to supporting mission-oriented organizations. He is the former Publisher and Executive Director at the 501c3 North Atlantic Books and former CEO/Associate Publisher at Synergetic Press. In the cannabis space, he co-founded and as CEO, guided a successful launch at CannaKeys, which aggregates the science of cannabis and the endocannabinoid system for healthcare and led the cannabis compassion program, Mission-Compassion, which served low-income patients in the East Bay. He’s honored to support the Shulgin legacy as Director of Finance and Operations at the Shulgin Foundation.
Stacie Alyson 
Programs Director
Stacie Alyson is the Programs Director at the Shulgin Foundation. She has been producing community-centered events that spark connection and curiosity for over a decade. She has worked at several event-based organizations including Esalen Institute, Freestyle+, and Eventbrite. Stacie also leads workshops rooted in movement, storytelling, humor, and imagination for groups ranging from teens to executives.
Brad Burge 
Communications Director
Brad Burge is the founder of Integration Communications, a specialized PR firm established in 2020 that helps psychedelic organizations communicate effectively while upholding scientific integrity and ethical principles. With 16 years of experience in the psychedelic field, Brad previously served as Director of Strategic Communications for MAPS, where he played a pivotal role in reshaping cultural narratives around psychedelics as legitimate tools. Brad holds a B.A. in Communication and Psychology from Stanford University and an M.A. in Communication from the University of California, San Diego. His expertise spans public relations, marketing, and communications for pharmaceutical developers, therapy training companies, clinics, retreats, and non-profits in the psychedelic industry.
Sasha Silberberg 
Communications Support
Sasha Silberberg is a seasoned communications specialist in the psychedelic industry. She was previously Director of Communications at the MIND Foundation, a non-profit based in Berlin that is dedicated to psychedelic research and education. During her time at MIND, she served on their Executive Board and focused on strategic partnerships and communications. Before entering the psychedelic industry, Sasha was a Professional Matchmaker (yes, for love!) working with high-profile executives in the SF Bay Area. Sasha's work has been featured in Business Insider, Forbes, SFGate, and more.
DaisyMae VanValkenburgh-Haftel 
Social Media Manager
DaisyMae VanValkenburgh-Haftel is the founder of DazeMarie Marketing, a boutique digital marketing agency she launched in 2019 to bring bold, story-first strategy to brands in lifestyle, wellness, and psychedelic therapy.
With a background in investigative journalism, a short-but-sharp stint in public relations, and deep roots in marketing, she works with clients around the world—from researchers and therapists to medspas, nonprofits, clinics, retreats, and mission-driven orgs—to create thoughtful, high-impact content that actually connects.
She holds a B.A. in Journalism and Global Studies from Hofstra University and earned a certification in U.S. Government from Harvard.
Alysiana Carter 
Shulgin Archival Fellow
Alysiana Carter is the Shulgin Archival Fellow, primarily responsible for researching and pulling content from the extensive Shulgin Archive (125K documents, 40K photos) for exhibitions and projects. She is a second year PhD student at the Graduate Theological Union, focusing on psychedelic phenomenology.
